H. Davis North, III has been practicing criminal law in North Carolina since 1980. He began his career as an assistant public defender in Guilford County and entered private practice in 1982. His practice has included all facets of criminal law in the state and federal courts.
His trial experience includes successful representation in capital cases, white-collar crime, violent felonies, DWIs and nonviolent felonies. He has represented corporate officials, attorneys, assistant district attorneys, law enforcement officers and others.
H. Davis North, III has served as past president of the Members of the Board of Directors of the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He co-authored "Murder in North Carolina - A Question of Degree?" His honors include a pro bono award in 1996 for the successful retrial of a defendant who had been previously sentenced to death.
H. Davis North, III is included in Woodward and White's The Best Lawyers in America, is listed in Business North Carolina Magazine as one of North Carolina's Legal Elite and as one of North Carolina's Super Lawyers by Charlotte Magazine.
